Last night I met up with a bunch of comics people and got to meet Sarah McIntyre (
jabberworks )who draws Vern & Lettuce in
The DFC, and she was exactly as lovely and charming as you might imagine. This is how our meeting went:
Me: sarah will you do something in my sketchbook (I only just met her five minutes ago)
Her: sure, what?
Me: um, I dunno, just use your imagination
Me: no wait, draw me and you holding hands with the caption 'BEST FRIENDS FOREVER'
Her: ...ok

Me: This is amazing
Me: Wait, I feel like this might come off as sappy, I need to draw something in your sketchbook for balance

MEETING: A SUCCESS
chamonkee was there and he drew a cool picture of me, and showed me how to ink with a nib! what a nice dude! Also shoutouts to everyone else I met, but especially the guy who told me that my comics had inspired him to make comics in a similar vein and then showed me a bunch of comics about a talking swan with a huge dong, what is up
ryclaude This is a page from my sketchbook on the day I met up with radical dude
joshuavorbis in London a week or two ago! He had a cold on that day and couldn't taste much, so we decided to keep a diary of all the cups of tea he had and see if his taste improved throughout the day. I KNOW YOU ARE DYING TO SEE THE RESULTS.

I tried to give him my City of London sightseeing spiel from back when I was training to be a tour guide, and I got about 1/10 of the way through it before I realised that I'd forgotten nearly all of it. Then we went to the pub.
It was nice to see you all, friends old and new! May the Space Year 2009 be a happy one!
been doing other comics for quite some time now
AND ALSO IT WAS VERY NICE TO MEET YOU
