Dear LJ friends, those who make comics and those who just love comics alike;  In two weeks me and

[info]chamonkee will be representing our little corner of the internet at the BRISTOL COMICS EXPO on the 11th of May. I am going as a Rocket Ape

and I will be dispensing free mini-comics from some kind of bullet belt. It will be awesome. Now, here is the kicker. I just got moved into an office in which I spend all day alone with a huge heavy-duty printer and photocopier, so not only do I now have enough pictures of my bottom to wallpaper my front room, I have pretty much everything I need to be the Harper Collins of the indie comics world right now. I've got two weeks to get ready for this, and I want to give out a lot of comics, so: who would like me to give out their mini-comics at this convention?

This is our moment for our comics to reach an audience who wouldn't normally see them. Exciting times! I will try and do as many people's comics as I can, so don't be shy in coming forward! We will be superheroes just for one day! Real English people will read your comics, some of whom have never heard of the internet and think television is the magic of the wooky-hole witch! I plan to get our comics to everyone from the most important people there to the lowliest beggar! It is the day we make our mark on the world!

And if you're especially confident, I need someone to be the second Rocket Ape and help me give out comics. HISTORY IN THE MAKING

SO PRINGLES

Less excitingly I'm starting two more draw-offs today, because I decided it would be fun to be like one of those old guys who plays chess by mail, carrying on several games at once. As you know by now, the rules of the draw-off are quite simple: One person draws a drawing, the other person redraws it, changes it somehow and sends it back, and it carries on in this fashion until we get to 10 drawings. At the moment we're just doing one-on-one games but I reckon it could work with tons of people, like some kind of drawing chinese whispers. Try it yourself!

The two new contenders are comedy genius [info]nedroidcomics and other comedy genius [info]zpxlng, aka eegra.com's Patrick Alexander!

Ok, that's that, now it is past my bedtime

Ha ha!

You can throw away as much of it as you like.

Shit, I'll do a mini comic for you right now! How many pages is good and what size? Com on, come on! I'll ready to go, god damnit! ^_^
29th-Apr-2008 05:13 am (UTC)
I dunno! I guess eight pages is a good length! Size A5, but I'll be shrinking 'em down to that anyway.

Neat biscuits! Just b&w or is colour okay?
29th-Apr-2008 08:50 am (UTC)
b + w only :(
29th-Apr-2008 03:01 pm (UTC)
That's cool, man. I can dig that.
29th-Apr-2008 02:56 am (UTC)
I would be 2nd Rocket Ape
29th-Apr-2008 05:19 am (UTC)
Man, I hadn't even considered the possibility of a sexy 2nd rocket ape!
29th-Apr-2008 07:14 am (UTC)
It's the 10th (saturday) that I'll be going.
29th-Apr-2008 08:49 am (UTC)
Whoops, I meant the 10th
29th-Apr-2008 10:13 am (UTC)
Now I think about it properly, I don't think it's a good idea to go in full rocket ape gear to this thing. Two guys doing it at a comedy gig is funny, in theory. One person doing it in the function room of some hotel is mostly just obnoxious!

Bristol you say, well, I might even go to that.
Although I won't be dressing up.

BAM!!
7th-May-2008 11:04 am (UTC)
I need to move to Australia.
7th-May-2008 11:29 am (UTC)
Why, to get as far away from the Bristol comics con as possible?
7th-May-2008 12:05 pm (UTC)
Na, because I keep hearing about alot of webcomic artists in Australia
I'm not THAT bad at geography, even if I am an American.
