Is this your hat? Remix 2

.

Today's story is relatively tame by previous standards, but was still pretty popular with the kids: IS THIS YOUR HAT, REMIX

Me: Who's this?

Kids: ERIC!!

And who's this?
Kids: DRIVER!!

And what's this?

Kids: CAT!!

Driver: Hey, Eric!

Driver: Is this your cat?

[this is a reiteration of an existing story: the kids by now expect Eric to say 'yes, it is!' which would usually then lead into a story about Eric's hat blowing off and Jin-su stealing it.]

WHAAAT??

WHAAAAAT??

Cat: Is this your hat?

Becky: No, it's not. Is this your rat?

Jin-su: No, it's not. Is this your bat?

Eric: No, it's not. Is this your fat?

J: Yes, it is. Is this your mat?

Dracula: Yes, it is! This is my flat! Wa, ha, ha!

HEY!

Hey, Eric!

Is this your hat?

E: Yes, it is!

E: Oh! It's Cool!

E: Thankyou!

Hey, Dracula!

Is this your pencil case?

D: No, it's not!

D: My pencil case is pink!

D: Oh, it's cool!
D: Wa, ha, ha!

Hey, Becky!

Is this your...

Kids: NINTENDO!!

Is this your Nintendo, Becky?

B: Yes, it is!

B: Oh!! Counterstrike: Zombie! It's so cool! Pii, pii!*

*"Blood, blood!"

Hey, Jin-su!

Are these your trousers?

J: No, they're not.

J: My trousers are green.

Cat: they're my trousers!

Cat: Oh! It's so cool!

Cat: Doo, doo doo doo, doo-doo, doo-doo!

J: Hey, Eric!

J: Is this your watermelon?

Cat: Doo, doo doo doo, doo-doo, doo-doo!

J: Hey, Eric!

J: Is this your watermelon?

E: No, but thank you!

J: NO PROBLEM!

Cat: Doo, doo doo doo, doo-doo, doo-doo!

[seriously, I just kept replaying this bit until it stopped getting laughs, which was pretty much never]

J: SEE YOU LATER!!

E: Hey.

E: This is not a watermelon.

E: IT'S A BOMB!!!!

BOOOOOOM!!

B: Hey, Eric!

B: Is this your leg?

E: No, it's not!

QUIZ TIME!

I explain to the kids that we're now going to do a listening exercise. I then sit on the front of my desk and read from my clipboard. I like this part because somehow the simple act of me sitting on the front of my desk with a clipboard has a spellbinding effect and the kids listen VERY INTENTLY for some reason. I feel a lot like my hero Steve from Blue's Clues

"Dracula has a pink pencil case, while Jin-su has a Red Pencil Case."
"Becky has a green notebook, and Eric has a purple pencil case, while Dracula has a black horse."
"Jinsu has a white horse."

I then point out that I have written the names of all four characters at opposite corners of that classroom, and that they should run to the character who they think is the owner of the object on the projector screen.

#1:

Whose pencil case is this? Run around, NOW!

[The kids run around.]

Hey, Dracula!

Is this your pencil case?

D: Yes, it is!

D: Wa, ha, ha!

#2:

Whose notebook is this? Run around, NOW!

[The kids run around again.]

Hey, Jin-su! [at this point, the kids who are standing by becky say OH!!!

and some even run over to Jin-su's corner.]

Is this your pencil case?

J: No, it's not!

J: It's Becky's!

#3:

Whose Horse is this? Run around, NOW!

[The kids run around.]

Hey, Becky!

Is this your horse?

B: No, it's not!

B: It's Jin-su's!

#4: FINAL ROUND

Whose pencil case is this? Run around, NOW!

[The kids run around a final time.]

Hey, Dracula!

Is this your pencil case?

D: No, it's not!

D: Wa, ha, ha!

SIT DOWN, DRACULA KIDS

Hey, Becky!

Is this your pencil case?

B: No, it's not!

SIT DOWN, BECKY KIDS

Hey, Jinsu!

Is this your pencil case?

J: No, it's not!

J: My pencil case is red!

SIT DOWN, JIN-SU KIDS

Hey, Eric!

Is this your pencil case?

[the kids standing in Eric's corner by this point could not possibly be more excited]

E: No, it's not!

[Kids: WHAAAAA??]

E: Oh, wait!

E: Yes, it is!

[kids in Eric's corner go crazy]

GAAAAAME OVERRRRRR!

And!

THE END.

Sometimes of these stories I would get a round of applause for, and I think this was one of them. By the way, if you liked this, click on the 'Eric Stories' tag to see a whole load more.

I have recently finished a relatively large(by my standards) comic project for a pretty well-known website, which should be going up in a couple of weeks. I guess I will talk about it closer to the date! If you are a new reader and you want to keep track of this stuff but you're not on livejournal, I put the link to this blog's RSS feed in the sidebar.

Ok, think that's about it! Again, if you're a newcomer, thanks for reading! Stick around, kid, we are going to do BIG THINGS
